We appreciate all of your hard work in ensuring our vacation was top notch. All of the staff wore masks the entire time in 90 degree heat to make sure the guests felt safe, which is no easy thing to do. We were a little nervous going due to the Covid situation but once we got there we felt safe and were able to relax. There were plenty of activities you could enjoy or be a part of. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the resort was super clean. My husband and I stayed at this resort for a week for our 20th anniversary and we were completely blown away by all of it. Any cons listed are so minimal compared to all the things this place does great.… Overall, this is an incredible resort that I have recommended to many of my friends. Other than the African Acrobat show, the evening entertainment was not quite as good as at EPM. Even though they tried to keep it stocked, guacamole and bacon were hard to come by at the breakfast buffet. CONS: The lunchtime pizza from Sol was usually crazy busy and they messed up my order after waiting for 30 minutes.
Didn't bother us one bit as we sat and read for hours. The beach did not have a ton of security walking around at night so we were able to check off a bucket list item ) The seaweed at the beach had almost no odor while we were there. Housekeeping left several towel animals which is always a nice touch. As long as we got to the EC pool before 10 am, we had lots of options to choose from. Great Atmosphere: Iguanas and Kudamundis (Mexican raccoons) everywhere and very tame. At Magna, try the surf and turf (better than the Tomahawk), the spring rolls, and the ravioli. The Hibachi was good but nothing extraordinary so please do not worry if you do not get a reservation.
Our favorites were the breakfast tacos at the omelet station and sushi for lunch. Both the breakfast and lunch buffet at The Kitchen Table had unending options. Great Food: All the restaurants we tried were fantastic. Also, the house wine at Chez Isabelle was better than I expected. Evening - smoked Old Fashioned, Lychee Sake Martini, Homemade Gimlet (gotta try this one even if you are not a Gin fan), and Gold Margarita. Around the pool - Mango Colada, Spicy Mango Margarita, Hemingway Mojito, Paloma, and chilled tequila shots. Great Drinks: Morning Caffeine from Aroma - Iced Hazelnut Coffee. Feliciano at the EC Lounge made incredible evening cocktails and was always friendly. Daniel for the EC concierge was always ready to help and made sure we got our Coco Loco's on our last day. They never stop working and go out of their way to make sure they get everything correct. And she did it while singing! Santiago and Moises at the EC bar and pool are incredible. PROS: Amazing staff members: Amable for the EC beach service remembered our names and drinks and worked so hard bringing us drinks. Two years prior, we had been to Excellence Playa Mujeres and loved the experience so much, we wanted to stay in the Excellence family. My wife and I are in our thirties and traveled to ERC for our 12 year anniversary.
